The Independent New Review

David Vintiner shot this new series of portraits in the run up to the general election, when immigration was one of the hotly debated topics (and still is).

All the subjects are from minority communities: a native Brazilian Indian, a vicar from Tristan de Cunha (a British territory in the middle of the South Atlantic; the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world with a population of 302), a Mongolian art promoter and a Sami from Norway.

The article that accompanies these images looks at how the immigrants feel living in the UK with increasing levels of criticism surrounding immigration.
