A true working class Yorkshireman, Steven went straight into an apprenticeship from school, thinking he needed a trade, but his different way of seeing soon took over and after a night course in photography he did a degree in photography at The Surrey Institute of Art and Design before delving into the fashion scene at Dazed and Confused magazine, assisting Rankin among others and being a staple element to many high end fashion shoots inc Prada, Mui Mui, Armani, Daks etc.
His own work specialises in creating narrative and documentary led visual content encompassing landscape, lifestyle and people.
He approaches his work with a real sense of craft and understanding of the medium he is working in.
With beautiful lighting and colour palette the work is perfectly suited to lifestyle, fashion, luxury and property brands.
Some of these he has created work for are: The Crown Estate, Pernod-Ricard, Crabtree & Evelyn, Next, Jack Wills and Hole & Corner.
Steven has been lucky to travel extensively with his work and loves to capture the environment of new places he visits, but it is always about trying to visually hold on to the feeling of the place rather than the traditional ‘landmarks’.
